Physical Education student clinches silver medal at national para- badminton competition
Daniel Chan (Physical Education and Recreation Management, Year 2) clinched a silver medal in the men’s singles in the wheelchair category of the National Para-Badminton Competition.
Daniel seldom takes part in competitions held in mainland China and it took him some time and effort to adapt to the ruling and tournament systems. He learned how to keep calm under unfavourable situations, and grasped every chance to score points.
Daniel added that the standard of mainland badminton players is high, especially those who compete in national competitions. He said the assiduous players commit to a demanding training schedule and always strive for the best. They lead an unadorned lifestyle and their competitive spirit is valuable for Hong Kong athletes to learn.
Daniel will take part in overseas competition every month as he has to fully prepare for the Asian Games which will be held in August.
