Outstanding Performance at USFHK Athletic Meet

HKBU’s Athletics Team achieved the University’s best ever result in the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong (USFHK) Annual Athletics Meet. The Men’s Team won the Men’s Overall Championship for the first time in this highly competitive annual athletics event. 
 
The annual meet was held on 6 March 2016. On top of winning the Men’s Overall Championship, HKBU’s Athletics Team also took the overall third place in the meet. HKBU athletes did exceptionally well in the individual events:
 
Winner Fung Kin-lok (Associate Degree, 400m Hurdles and 110m Hurdles)
Wong Yat-kan( Associate Degree, 5000m)
The first runner-up prize Jason Wu (Physical Education and Recreation Management, Pole Vault)
Yu Chi-yeung (Associate Degree, Shot Put)
Chan Ting-chun (Sports and Recreation Leadership, 400m Hurdles)
So Man-ho (Physical Education and Recreation Management,800m)
Chan Long-ting (Physical Education and Recreation Management,1500m)
Wong Tsz-yan (Physical Education and Recreation Management,1500m)
The Men’s Athletic Team (4x400m Relay)
The second runner-up prize Leung Chung-kuen (Associate Degree, Pole Vault)
Wong Chun-wing (Sports and Recreation Leadership, Triple Jump)
Lee Ka-yiu (Associate Degree, 110m Hurdles)
Lam Tsz-hang (Sports and Recreation Leadership, 400m)
Chan Long-ting (Physical Education and Recreation Management, 5000m )
Wong Tsz-yan (Physical Education and Recreation Management, 800m)
Wong Yeung-wai (Associate Degree, 1500m)
Lam Tsz-hang, Captain of the Men’s Team, was delighted by the result which recognises their excellent performance and effort. He thanked the University for the support it has provided. He is confident that the team can replicate the success of this triumphant season as members share the same dream and vision, and the University is providing more support to help them strike a better balance between study and sport.    
 
Mr Lam Ho-fung, Lecturer of the Department of Physical Education and athletics team coach, was excited by the teams’ excellent performance. He said that the Department provides coaching and training to all university team members and has attracted a number of outstanding athletes, including sportspeople who represent Hong Kong. Apart from strengthening the competence of all team members, it also boosts morale, enabling them to achieve this coveted goal.
