Book Launching Ceremony of Faster, Higher, Stronger: An Oral History of Olympism and Sportsmanship in Hong Kong and Seminar on Oral History, organized by Advanced Institute for Contemporary China Studies on 25 June 2016, ended with great success. The new book is the result of “An Oral History Project of Olympism and Sportsmanship in Hong Kong”, which has involved four secondary schools, over twenty Hong Kong elite athletes, and Department of History, Department of Physical Education as well as Advanced Institute for Contemporary China Studies of HKBU.

The event began with opening remarks from officiating guests - Dr. Louis C. W. Ng, Deputy Director of LCSD, HKSAR Government and Ms Vivien C. C. Lau, Vice President of SF& OC, Hong Kong. In the open forum that followed, top Hong Kong athletes Ms Ho Ka Lai, Mr. Lee Chi Wo and Mr. Chung Kin Man, whose stories were told in this new book, shared their sport and life experience with over sixty participants.

The half-day event was concluded by a seminar, in which teachers and students from the four participating schools, namely Wa Ying College, Queen Elizabeth School, Heep Yunn School and Good Hope School, exchanged views over the skills and uses of oral history
