Admission Scholarship for Outstanding Students (2018 Entry)  

  • This scholarship is to recognize outstanding Year 1 students admitted to one of our undergraduate programmes in the Faculty of Social Sciences via JUPAS, whose HKDSE results satisfy the awarding criteria.
  • Eligibility: Local year 1 students who obtain HKDSE score (i) 25 or above; or (ii) 24 with one 5* in one subject from four core subjects plus one best elective subject; and Recipients cannot receive the HKBU Admission Scholarship for Outstanding Local Students concurrently.
  • No. of Recipients: no fixed quota
  • Amount per Recipient: full tuition fee for Year 1 study (HK$42,100)
  • Application method: by Faculty selection 

Social Sciences Undergraduate Scholarship (Academic Excellence)                                                                          

  • This scholarship is to encourage and recognize first-year Social Sciences students with excellent academic performance during the first year of study
  • Award:  A scholarship of HK$4,000 will be awarded to the first-year Social Sciences students with excellent cumulative GPA scores obtained in previous academic year.
  • Application method: No application for this scholarship is necessary.  All Social Sciences Faculty undergraduate students completed Year 1 and progressing to Year 2 will be considered.  The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merits.

Social Sciences Undergraduate Scholarship (Community Action)

  • This scholarship is to encourage and recognize Social Sciences students with outstanding commitment to community service and exhibit excellent performance in community service
  • Award: A scholarship of HK$4,000 will be awarded to the best examples of community service.

Social Sciences Undergraduate Scholarship (Global Exchange)

  • This scholarship is to recognize outstanding social sciences students who participated in the Student Exchange Programme (not as a Major Programme requirement) for one semester or one year.
  • Award: A scholarship at the maximum of HK$4,000 will be awarded to the outstanding Social Sciences students who have completed the Student Exchange Programme
