Eligibility:
- Secondary 4-5 students in the academic year of 2022-2023
- Each school can recommend a maximum of 3 students
- Students should provide proof(s) of the Principal’s recommendation
Post-event Activity: Participants will be invited to join a video competition

Video Competition for Participants:
Theme: Overcoming Adversity: Social Sciences in the Age of COVID-19
- Each person / group (up to 4 members) can only submit one video.
- The length of the video should not be longer than 2 minutes. The format must be .avi or .mpeg and not less than 720x576 pixels. Post-production, such as editing, adding subtitles, sound effects and animation can be added to the video.
- When submitting the video, a brief introduction with no more than 100 words shall be attached, and it must be submitted via an online form (the link will be provided later), please mark the file name as "Future Social Scientists 2023_Full name in English". The deadline is 5:00 pm, 21 July 2023.
- All submitted video must be original and not be plagiarized or contain obscenity, violence, pornography, defamation and nudity, and have not been publicly displayed or participated in other competitions, otherwise they will be disqualified, and the resulting disputes are the responsibility of the participants only.
- The organizer can use the submitted video for any promotion and display purposes without paying any fees and prior notice to the participants.
- The list of awardees will be announced on the website of the Faculty of Social Sciences in early Aug 2023, and will be notified by email.
- The organizer reserves the right of final decision in any case of any dispute.
- Participants are deemed to agree and accept the above rules by participating in the competition.
- Students who showcase excellent ideas/creativity/quality in their videos will be rewarded with cash coupon and a certificate.
The Faculty of Social Sciences, HKBU reserves the right to withdraw or revise its programme details.
