Dr. Sammy Li receives research grant from the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange

Dr Sammy Li, Research Assistant Professor of the Department of History, has received a two-year research grant of US$52,000 from the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange. 

 

Dr Li’s research proposal entitled “Industrial Production and Unification of the Weight System in the Qin Empire” was evaluated by the Foundation and selected as a qualifying project for its originality, feasibility and methodology to deliver long-term impact in its field.

 

Dr Li is appreciative of the support from the University, Faculty of Social Sciences and the Department, which allows him to undertake a research project dealing with objects from ancient China, circa 200 BC. Thanking his senior colleagues for the inspiration and guidance he has received from them, he said he will try his best make the project a success.
