President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching
Prof. Cheung Siu Yin, Department of Physical Education, received the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching by HKBU on 29 April 2016 to recognise her brilliant performance in teaching, promoting excellence in performance standards and encouraging colleagues to make greater achievements.
Coaching Excellence Award
Mr. Warman Cheng, Lecturer I, Department of Physical Education received the Coaching Excellence Award in 2015, recognising his outstanding coaching achievement in international tournaments. In the past year, led by Mr. Cheng, the Hong Kong U23 squad won the bronze medal in the IKF U23 Asia Oceania Korfball Championship. In addition to winning 3rd place, player CHEUNG Wing Yan was selected into the tournament’s All-Star team and the U23 squad also qualified for the 2016 U23 World Korfball Championship. Furthermore, the Hong Kong U19 squad won silver (1Zone 2Korfs) and bronze (1Zone 1Korf) medals in the 1st IKF Asia U19 & U16 Korfball4 Championship.
He was also appointed as the coach of Hong Kong Youth (U19) Korfball Team to participated in the IKF U19 Korfball World Cup held from 25 to 27 March 2016 in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. A male player got the Champion in Skill Challenge Competition while a female player got the title of Best Scorer with 22 goals in the whole tournament.
Outstanding Prospective Teachers Election
Mr. Gary Ng, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, won the Silver Award at the Outstanding Prospective Teachers Election 2016 organised by the Hong Kong Prospective Teachers’ Association on 24 April 2016.
