What can we learn from history, ourselves, and the imagined futures through research of social sciences? The interdisciplinary conference aims to foster dialogues and discussions among young researchers and graduate students, providing a platform for them to explore the various envisioned futures through the lens of social sciences.

We invite young scholars and social sciences graduate students, including doctoral and master students, to present your research findings. We would like to create a safe space for you to share your views on (Re)thinking Futures: Introspection, Retrospection and Prospection.

Potential areas for exploration may include but are not limited to:

  • Unearthing new opportunities, governance, and public policy in perspective
  • Rethinking education: teaching and learning, schools and society, mainstreams and alternatives
  • Rethinking forms of social realities, structures, and agencies
  • Historical change and continuity from a global perspective
  • Rethinking the contribution of social work in the changing society
  • Smart society and future earth: challenges and opportunities in Geography
  • New challenges and perspectives in sport, physical education, and health

This year, we are honored to have invited two keynote speakers and one alumni speaker: Prof. Mark Bray from East China Normal University / the University of Hong Kong, Prof. Dr. Sonia Lippke from Constructor University Bremen (Germany), and Dr. Md Lokman Hossain from HKBU. Their sharing will inform you about the most recent innovative research in social sciences.
